Jess’ Story
Jess Wilson is a repeat tech founder, her first business Stashd scaled to 130 countries, won numerous awards, saw her as a grand finalist on China’s version of Shark Tank x The Apprentice airing to 15M p/episode and was pinned by Forbes as one of 1,000 entrepreneurs under 30 to change the world in the next 50 years. When raising money for her startup, Jess was sexually assaulted by a prospect investor. She turned to an advisor to ask for guidance in which she was met with “Jess, put your head down, focus on the business, and when you’re ‘more successful’ you can do something about it then.” (Horrific advice). Jess decided to go against that advice and was determined to seek justice for what happened to her.
She met with dozens of lawyers and law firms and quickly learnt that the options available to her were not in favour of the survivor. The most common feedback being “We believe what you’re saying – but it’s not about the truth, it’s about the law and how the law is structured”. Given that this answer was not acceptable to her or for any survivor, Jess started a lawsuit, which took 18 months working along side Lawyers, Barristers, Psychologists, Queens Counsel and ultimately – Won.

MEET OUR IMPACT PARTNERS

FOUNDER STORY
Women Making Waves (WMW) is the first NFT project under Waves Tech Ventures – a female led and gender empowering venture business focusing on utilising Web3 technologies for impact. Co founded by Hayley Evans and Jessica Wilson in 2021, the pair met as neighbours throughout the Sydney Covid-19 lockdowns, quickly establishing a friendship grounded in shared values and a desire to harness technology for impact. With restaurants shut, offices closed – the two had time to brainstorm and stretch each others thinking as to what was possible, they quickly realised their skill-sets, connections and background crossover was perfectly complimentary.
Jessica, a successful tech entrepreneur with an innate ability to market to and wrap a vision towards millennial and Gen Z women, a stash of growth awards and pinned by Forbes as one of 1,000 entrepreneurs to change the world in the next 50 years and; Hayley, an investor and hyper-growth driven advisor whose portfolio includes the creation and scale of a $14B company’s tech investment portfolio, Global Board roles for YPO, Impact initiatives, and a training organisation in the safety and mining industry. The co-founders work with their startup team of Blockchain development specialists, NFT advisors who have built bluechip NFT projects and marketers to execute on the vision of the company and collection.
And so the story begins. TWO girls, ONE mission and a world ready for CHANGE.

FAQ’s
What is an NFT?
How many NFT's are there in the collection?
There are 10,000 NFT’s in the Women Making Waves collection. We will be allowing our community to mint (purchase) on our website, with payment via Ethereum using either Metamask or to pay via credit card using paper.xyz
Why is WMW different from any other NFT projects?
Our collection is based on a multi-layer value proposition:
- Empowering a community to contribute to the way underfunded impact organizations fund their work.
- Creating new, reoccuring and sustainable revenue streams through the use of a NFT collection for our impact partners.
- Providing our community exclusive access to experts, tools and education in order to tactically change outdated legislation.
- Each time one of our impact contributors overturns a law, we will create a digital copy of that law and turn it into a NFT and airdrop to all holders.
How do you buy into the WMW community?
WMW is committed to providing equal access to the WMW collection and the digital community to any one who believes in our mission, which means we are removing all barriers to purchase.
The Web3 Native
Minting into the WMW communities via your own established digital wallet (MetaMask) and communication through our discord channel
The Web3 Newbie
WMW has partnered with Paper.xyz which makes it accessible to the full audience with a fast, simple and frictionless checkout solution. Whether they want to buy by credit card and link to an established wallet, or even simpler buy by credit card and Paper.xyz creates and stores a wallet for them, there are no barriers for communities members to buy into WMW.
The ‘Upswell”
WMW understands that the world is not an equal playing field and even though people may want to support the cause, may not have the financial means to do so.
That is why WMW created an Upswell wallet holding 100 NFT’s, in which passionate individuals or organisations can apply to the WMW and share their story and why they would like to be part of the community.
How to mint into the community
Individual purchasing
WMW understands that there are Web3 Natives and Web3 newbies, but that doesn’t mean our community is only available for one or the other.
That’s why WMW offers two ways to buy into the community.
By minting directly from the WMW website and through to their existing Metamask wallet or by purchasing directly from the WMW website through their incredible partner paper.xyz, allowing anyone anywhere the ability to buy using a credit card and connecting to their own established wallet, or if they don’t have a wallet paper.xyz will create one for them and store on their secure site.
